About the Client
Our client is a premium financial services firm providing tailored financial forecasting and strategic insights. They seek a proactive Financial Analyst to join their team, working directly under the Director of Forecasting to deliver actionable financial analyses, models, and insights that align with client goals.
Responsibilities
Client Interaction and Reporting
- Attend client meetings, taking detailed notes on business planning and financial trends.
- Follow up with clients via email for additional financial or planning information as required.
- Schedule monthly client meetings, acting as a project manager to ensure all monthly engagement milestones are met.
Financial Analysis and Modelling
- Prepare and update financial models for clients, including profit and loss statements, cash flow, and balance sheets, using tools such as LivePlan and custom spreadsheets in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Develop ad hoc reports and KPIs aligned with client objectives.
Monthly Close and Variance Analysis
- Coordinate with the accounting department to monitor the monthly financial close process.
- Perform variance analysis, comparing actual monthly performance against forecasts or budgets.
- Prepare insights on variances and trends for review with the Director of Forecasting, and present findings in client meetings.
Exciting Growth Opportunities
- Progress to interpreting client goals and making independent adjustments to forecasts with minimal supervision.
- Take on a leadership role in client performance review meetings.
- Lead strategic planning sessions with clients to align forecasting with long-term business objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience in financial forecasting, analysis, or a related field
- Proficiency in financial modeling software, particularly Excel, Google Sheets, and LivePlan (or similar).
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively
