About the Role
We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer with strong foundations in Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices. You will help manage, automate, and maintain our AWS-based systems, ranging from EC2 instances managed with configuration management tools to containerized workloads running on ECS.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and support AWS infrastructure (including EC2, ECS, RDS, and ElastiCache).
- Maintain and enhance Linux-based servers with Bash and Python scripting.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy.
- Work with Docker and containerized services in a Microservices architecture.
- Occasionally troubleshoot database issues and perform basic MySQL maintenance tasks (backups, monitoring, user management).
- Participate in on-call rotation, handling only serious incidents when they arise
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and implement scalable solutions.
- Contribute to automation initiatives, infrastructure monitoring, & operational improvements.
What You Should Bring
- Hands-on experience with AWS services
- Comfortable working with Linux systems and command line.
- Scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Git (especially GitHub) and CI/CD workflows.
- Exposure to Docker and microservices concepts.
- Awareness of networking and security principles in AWS.
- Basic familiarity with MySQL administration (operations and troubleshooting).
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Github Actions or Octopus Deploy.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools; CloudWatch, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana
